True to what they say, seems you lose most heat through your head if it's uncovered:
I had a hooded jacket, but no suite of shirts to drape about myself. The fluorescent lights were actually far harder to sleep under.
I've yet to hear any Canadian pronounce sorry some way other than "sore-y." Which you hear a lot because of the national politeness. It's great. I wanted to get a recording of the automated broadcast where some lady apologizes for the inconvenience.
Landed in Edmonton. Still unknown status for the boxes.
At least we have a hotel:
The hotel room has been paid up for another day, but doing the same with the car has been more drawn out than expected.
Next stop is figuring out lunch in Edmonton and then some local attractions. At this point, we're committed to one extra day here, and likely another. But past that, it's gonna take some hard decisions: about how to proceed without our gear and how to revise the schedule.
A lot of phone calling throughout the day. Some slightly distracted walking through downtown Alberta and the Heritage Festival in a park, which was like a World's Fair of how different countries prepare Indian food.
