9/27: 192.8lbs, 8 more days

Woke up at 192.8. After sparring tonight, 192.8. So all the sweat and eating cancel out.
Sparred with Ryan, one of the coaches, and took a couple really good punches to the forehead. One of them hurt. As has been usual, I was still pretty low on energy and couldn't do much late into the rounds. Thank god the fights are 2min rounds.

After sparring was over, when I was wringing out one of my handwraps, I realized I had no short-term recollection of taking it off. Yeesh, that punch really did hurt -- I have a mark on my forehead from it. Kicked someone's knee just over my left instep and bruised that up pretty bad. The hamstring acted up a bit in sparring, but nothing severe.

doing my first amateur fight(s)

Some weeks back, after a decent sparring session, my coach told me there was gonna be an amateur tournament in Rhode Island in October. I figured it was high time. I've been training kickboxing for a while, and I'm not getting any younger. Of course, taking an amateur fight for me is capping off my training, not some wild dream about becoming a fighter. If I don't do this now, I will probably never want to or never be able to again.

Here's the link to the event: http://wesleyssanshou.com/index1.html
As you can see, it is definitely very amateur. But that's probably where I should be.
2/3 x 2min rounds, with 1min breaks.
At the gym we spar 3min rounds with 45s breaks. I should be ok for the first fight, but after that, who knows. The dieting has really affected my gas tank.

I really wish I could get some video of myself. I dunno if I'll ever have the chance again.
